Bunnell is where our address is, and it is also the part of Flagler County that most HVAC companies quietly deprioritize. Once you get west of US-1 the lots get larger, the driveways get longer, and a call that a Daytona-based outfit treats as a fifty-minute round trip is a ten-minute one for us. If you have ever been told a technician can come Thursday for something that is out today, that is the drive time talking.

The equipment picture out here is different from the beachside towns. There is much more manufactured and modular housing, which brings its own realities: belly duct that rodents get into, downflow furnaces and packaged units instead of split systems, and crossover ducts under the home that separate at the collar and dump conditioned air into the crawl space. We check those before quoting anything, because a new system pushing air into the ground is still a house that will not cool.

The older block homes closer to town have a different issue. Many were retrofitted from window units to central air decades ago with duct runs added wherever there was room rather than where the load was. Long trunk runs to a back addition are common, and so is a single central return trying to serve a house with closed bedroom doors.
